Green Design and Build is a licensed, veteran-owned residential design-build contractor in Van Nuys, CA (CSLB #1110975, bonded and insured). Led by Dekel Sofer, a licensed general contractor with more than 16 years of construction experience, we handle design, permits, engineering and construction under one roof: kitchen and bathroom remodels, whole-home renovations, room and second-story additions, ADUs and garage conversions, new homes, roofing, flooring, painting, windows and doors, and outdoor construction including concrete, pavers, patio covers, retaining walls, turf and landscaping. Kitchen Remodeling
Full kitchen remodels from layout and cabinetry to countertops, lighting, plumbing fixtures and flooring. 3D rendering approved before demolition. Typical Southern California budgets run $25,000 to $100,000.
Bathroom Remodeling
Hall baths, primary suites and tub-to-shower conversions: tile, vanities, plumbing and electrical, lighting, ventilation and waterproofing, with permits handled for you.
ADUs and Garage Conversions
Detached ADUs, attached ADUs, junior ADUs and garage conversions across Los Angeles, Orange and Ventura counties. We handle design, city plan check, engineering, utilities and construction under one contract.
Room Additions and Second-Story Additions
Bedrooms, primary suites, family rooms and full second stories. Ground-floor additions typically run $300 to $500 per square foot and second-story additions $400 to $650 per square foot all-in; every project is finished within 9 to 14 months from start.
Whole-Home Renovation
From multi-room refreshes to full gut renovations with structural changes, including opening up 1960s Valley kitchens to the dining room. Design and permitting up front, then 2 to 5 months of construction depending on scope.
New Home Construction
Ground-up custom homes and full rebuilds on existing lots, from design and engineering through plan check and construction.
Roofing
Roof replacement and re-roofing for homes across Southern California, usually as part of a remodel, addition or rebuild.
Outdoor Construction and Landscaping

Yes. We remodel bathrooms of every size, from hall bathroom updates to full primary suite renovations. We handle design, permits, plumbing fixtures, tile, and everything else needed to finish the job.
Our founder has more than 16 years of hands-on construction experience. He has completed projects in almost every city in Los Angeles and Orange counties.
We reply to every inquiry within one business day. Our hours are 8 AM to 6 PM, seven days a week.
Small jobs that don't need a permit can often start within a few days of signing. Larger projects start after design and permits are approved. We will give you a realistic timeline in your written proposal.
Yes. We warranty our labor for one year from the date the work is completed.
We follow California law. The down payment is never more than $1,000 or 10% of the contract price, whichever is less.
Yes. We offer financing programs through Synchrony, Service Finance and Home Run Financing. Ask us about options during your consultation. Plan details and approval are set by each lender.
Yes. Opening up the kitchen to the dining or living room is one of our most requested remodels, especially in older San Fernando Valley homes. We check whether the wall is load-bearing, handle the engineering and permits, and do the work.
Yes. We design, permit and build both detached ADUs and garage conversions throughout Los Angeles, Orange, Ventura and western Riverside counties. We handle the plans, permits and construction.
Yes. Design, engineering, permits and construction are all handled under one roof, so you work with one project manager from the first drawing to the final inspection. We can also show you 3D renderings before demolition starts.
